Angela 11/1/2006 please be careful...gosh. yoga and accidents...come hand in hand - today after yoga, on the way back home, i heard a car went zoooooom on 8th Ave behind me... then emergency
break....::GEEEEEEEE:: for 2-3 seconds, and ::BOOOM::!! it smashed into the car right in front.... people on the streets turned around to go see what happened and i kept walking away... crazy drivers! another reminder to really, really, pay attention on the street, look carefully everywhere! it's so dangerous in new york city! the most vulnerable pedestrians and cars get hit... for the people who drive, please drive slowly, patiently...no running yellow lights and speeding, cutting people off! please...so, SO dangerous! and watch all around you! behind, side, back...EVERYWHERE...eyes, ears, nose open open open! amitofou. may everyone be safe... 10/12/2006 one split second --- life and death10:50pm, after yoga class in the upper west side, 72nd/Amsterdam Ave, i walked out, waited for the 57th st bus to come. bus came right away and the only passenger got off the bus and the bus driver decided not to let me on the bus, so i walked over to broadway and hoped to catch the 104 bus downtown. as i crossed the street on amerstdam ave, i saw a woman crossing the street towards the 72nd subway station, a car went zoooom! right in her way and BAM! her life was in danger... the car was going at about 30 miles per hour...maybe less (?) and it her on the legs and she flipped around and fell on the ground... i could not let myself to stay there or even listen to her scream and moan...and i tried to walk calmly down to the subway station although my heart was racing... life and death is within a split second... the sound of the car hitting her and her falling and moaning/screaming keeps playing back in my head...gah. reminds me of freshman year, in the library...when.... in the subway, the cleaning man grabs the big bag of trash and does his job, the people down there waiting keeps on listening to their ipods, chatting, staring off into space... doesn't anyone know what's happening to the lady on the streeet?? i guess not...the world keeps rolling even when someone's life is about to stop...and i hope has not stopped...amitofou may she be well... thanks for listening...it feels much better to tell it to someone... 6/18/2006 cdiscoafter walking aimlessly in harvard square, came back to the stuffy dorm room and decided to wait for the floor meeting to start... 8pm, floor meeting. just like any other floor meeting...as interesting as it can get. RA introduces herself, tells us what rules we have to follow, such as no drinking, smoking in the dorms, and no walking around naked or with a towl...wahaha! at the ice cream social after the floor meeting, i biefly met many people...from all over the place...but most of them are majoring or have majored in fields that have at least some relation to architecture! dang...and when i tell people, "music education"...weeee...i get the "whoaa" face! hahaa. there'll be lots for me to learn! and i better take them all! music, architect...i'm so good at picking these millionaire jobs! anyway, can't wait 'til tomorrow starts!! eeek!!! learn learn learn learn learnnnnnnn!! 5/10/2006 school is officially....over!!after failing my final this afternoon at 4pm, summer vacation is officially here!
im not sure if im happy to greet it, or a bit sad that next year will be my last year.
Yesterday, I attended Angelini's graduation in Madison Square Garden, packed with family and friends, all with proud looks on their faces saying "my son/daughter/friend" is a graduate from Tisch...and I was one of them :) Congratulations to Angelina and Chien-Chien!! Master's from NYU!!!
Listening to the chair of departments, the valedictorian, the president of the program, pass words to the graduating class of 2006, send the warmest wishes from the bottom of their warm loving hearts...family reunions after the ceremony...everything just seems perfect.
i could almost jump a year ahead and see myself in that position. but im not ready...
what am i going to do with my life?
gosh! i cannot think about this anymore
perhaps i'm too greedy. want this, want that, want everything I can possibly get my hands on...try this try that...maybe I should just stick to one thing and move on. not think about other things...
i always pack myself with full schedules, running from places to places without a bit of time in between to sit down and think. maybe is because i'm afraid to have that time...
now that summer is here and currently, i'm 'planless'...
priorities in our lives...family, passion, health, money, friends, places to live in, work, education,..."which one gets the right of way?"

4/28/2006 end of junior year...it's already towards the end of the semester...next year will be my last year at nyu! i can't believe it! the busiest time of the year, papers to write, thesis projects to make, finals to take, performances to play in, and of course, a final portfolio to create for my photography class.... i worked on a bit in class today, trying to figure out some kind of "pattern" or...theme from all the pictures i've taken in the past 3 months. but it seems that they are just random... >.< i guess i can say that the pix i've taken all interest me in some way or another, that's why i took them! duh~ but that's about it... here are some i thought were funny, and others, interesting... please critique if u wish! =) it would be nice if u did! the one with david is just hilarious! he even looks younger than mei mei with his peace signs! more pix on the right - photo album 4/13/2006 spring is here!"spring is coming
spring is coming
how do you think, i know,
i saw a flower blooming,
i know it must be so"
this is from a children's song which i learned from observing elementary kids two years ago.
wow, time really flies! i've already been in ny for 2 1/2 years. and i have enjoyed every millisecond of it because of all my friends and my family :) im definitely not ready to leave...well, i still have a year and 1/2 to decide...who knows what will happen then...
last week, i saw the first green leaf on a bare tree and it felt so refreshing...ahhh, spring. the seasons are exactly the same in california...and of course there are pluses for that, but i can't imagine not seeing the seasons change after being here, experiencing it.
here are some pix i took around the park. enjoy the blossoms of spring, the nice weather, the colorful outfits,...

2/13/2006 26.9 inches of snow...^__________^"A total of 26.9 inches fell in Central Park, the most since record-keeping began in 1869" - NY Times
ahhh! so much snow yesterday~
angelini's car got stuck in the snow, so couldn't go back home~ so we went to central park and played in the snow for hours!!! eeek! so fun~
many families, friends, brought out their sleds and (what looked to me like) trash can lids and went for some fun on the slopes that are covered with snow! There were even people with skis and their trusty sticks, sliding on the streets trying not to hit people. haha~
a flight of stairs, (from 59th street/6th ave) leading to the "lake" on the corner of 59th/5th ave, became kids' and adults' slides! haha, even angelina and i tried it! whew~ it hurt! but it was a blast!!! shoo shoo shooooooo! bommmmmmmmmm! :P
and because there were so many spots where snow was untouched--perfectly smooth snow, i couldn't help but picking a spot to get comfy on them....ahah~ so i sat and lied there until i was freezing ^^ll
however, i forgot to charge my camera the night before >.< so didn't get as many shots as i wanted! wahh~ i did bring my old school camera...not sure how the pix will come out! we'll have to see!
so go check out some pix!!
oh, by the way! hahaa, this morning was a blast too!! since angelini's car was covered with snow....(about 1 foot of snow), we had to dig it out!! since i don't own any shovels...i busted out my plastic container lids! hahaa! they worked amazingly well~ woohoo~ so after 30 min of shoving and digging...her poor car is free!!! yay~ hahaa, and i told her that she should park outdoors in snowstorms more often, so we can have more fun! ^^ll
eek. 1869 until now....biggest snowstorm ever! or...most snow fall since then~ so lucky! i don't think i'll ever get enough of it...ever! my dream is to live somewhere that snows 24/7! mm, and maybe i should keep that a dream and never let it come true, so snow will always be "fresh" to me (很新鮮)!! :P
(see photo album (right) for more pictures) 1/21/2006 my messed up biological clockmy biological clock is off....and i have no idea how to turn it back! since i got back from Taiwan/HK, i've been sleeping at the wrong time....>.< sleeping when im not supposed to, up....like now...when im supposed to be having a wonderful dream on my bed, meeting 周公. recently ive been waking up after many hours of sleep, and i mean...MANY...like 12...and my whole body 沒力...can't really move...and still feel very sleepy. not because i've been sleeping too much...or maybe it is?? yesterday was like that, and when i finally got home and went to bed, i was so happy cuz i thought i can sleep 'til tomorrow morning....and be energized...! ...but i woke up at 2...and could not fall back asleep...>.< tomorrow-another whole day of events...we shall see if that'll make me tired enough to sleep at night... anyway. not much else to say. school is going well. tues and thurs are packed with classes....and mon and wed are like weekends... and as for nyu tzu chi...i will draw a comma until im ready to move on, or force myself to...maybe i'll erase the comma and make it a period so that it never has to go on... 1/15/2006 physically in ny, spiritually...still floating in taiwan and hk :)after i got back from Hk, i've been sleeping, day and night! in the past...2 days....2 1/2, i've slept over 24 hrs...can you imagine?! gosh, such a pig! this trip, i did sooooooooo many things! :) i ran many errands, visited many family members, explored many new places, got my international driver's license (yah!), did lots of shopping (like always), and hehehe...ate over 20 different fruits!! yum yum! i guess winter time isn't a bad time to go back after all!! except that it gets kinda short... in HK, of course, ate, ate, ate, ate, ate, ate! and shop shop shop shop shop...! mm, heaven! HK is really a wonderful city! i was amazed with how international it is! everywhere i go, i see europeans, americans, british, etc, etc...walkin on the street. anyway, the pictures say it all! so check them out! (on the right) school's starting on tuesday...yikes! i have to start 'putting my heart away'...i'm taming it back to the scholar mood! |
